LISBON — Samson A. Crowl, 34, Cherry Street, Salem, pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking in drugs in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court before Judge C. Ashley Pike on Tuesday.
Assistant County Prosecutor Ryan Weikart told Pike that Crowl sold 1.39 grams of heroin to a confidential informant and undercover agent while a small child was riding a bicycle within 1,000 feet of the Aug. 24, 2016 transaction. Additionally, a week later, Crowl sold 1.78 grams of fentanyl again while a small child was nearby.
At the time of sentencing, Weikart said he will request a two-year prison sentence. Defense attorney Kelly Linger requested a pre-sentencing investigation, including an evaluation for possible placement at the Eastern Ohio Correctional Center. Sentencing is set for Nov. 5.
