LISBON — A Lisbon-area man pleaded guilty to assaulting his girlfriend during a fight that resulted in the partial amputation of her pinky finger.
Dustin M. Berresford, 30, of U.S. Route 30, pleaded guilty in Common Pleas Court to aggravated assault, which was reduced from felonious assault as part of a plea deal reached with the county prosecutor’s office. Sentencing is Jan. 25.
The incident occurred March 11 in the apartments on Rose Drive, Lisbon, when Berresford began having a heated argument with Joey-Lynn Corfee. While he was holding his car keys in his hand, Berresford grabbed Corfee by the right hand and began dragging her. She pulled away, slicing her hand with the keys and resulting in the partial amputation of her pinky finger.
