Raymond James celebrates 100

WELLSVILLE — Raymond N. James, Wellsville, will celebrate his 100th birthday with an open house for family and friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at St. John Lutheran Church, East Liverpool.

He was born Oct. 8, 1917 to Hughie and Virgie (Roush) James and is the sixth child of fifteen.

He was married to the late Marcella (Fetter) James for over 67 years.

James served as former master and chairman of apple butter making for Yellow Creek Grange and member of Pomona and Ohio State Granges as well as serving as Grand Marshall for the Johnny Appleseed Festival Parade. He also belonged to the Masons and Ruritans and worked over 35 years for Ohio Edison, retiring from the Sammis plant.
