Golden year for Salem couple

SALEM – Walt and Bonnie (Mort) Greenamyer, Salem, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 6. To celebrate the couple took a 10-day Alaskan cruise.

They were married on June 6, 1964 at the Broadway Methodist Church in Alliance, by the Rev. Alfred C. Kreke.

Mr. Greenamyer is a retired fire chief.

Mrs. Greenamyer is a retired hairstylist.

They have three children, Rod Greenamyer, Hubbard, Lona Wells, Beloit, and Erica Polinori, Salem; and seven grandchildren.

Golden year for Salem couple

SALEM – Homer and Gerrie Huprich, Slater Road, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house, hosted by their family, from 2-5 p.m. June 22 at the Salem Italian American Club. The couple requests no gifts.

The former Geraldine Glossen married Homer Huprich at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon, on June 20, 1964.

Mrs. Huprich worked at Massillon Community Hospital and the Gas Lite Villa in Canal Fulton.

Mr. Huprich worked for Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. in Akron, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Mexico City, Mexico. He also worked briefly for Ho-Med Services, before joining Crane Deming Pump Company in 1981 where he worked in various capacities. He retired as the plant controller in 2005.

The couple moved to Salem in 1988, where Mr. Huprich serves on the St. Paul parish council. He also is a member of UCT 590, Winona Ruritans and the Italian American Club.

They have two daughters, Lee Ann (Alan) Firestone, Alliance; and Lynne’ (Donald) Gerry, Canal Fulton.
