Golden year for Palestine couple

EAST PALESTINE – Henry and Charlotte Torrence, East Palestine, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 29. A private family celebration is planned.

They were married on May 29, 1964.

Mr. Torrence was a steel mill worker for the B&W company in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He also ran and operated a tree cutting business.

Mrs. Torrence was a homemaker and worked as a cook at several area restaurants.

The couple have five children, Brenda Gorby Hall, Wayne Gorby, Paula (David) Felger, all of East Palestine; Colleen (Dave) Sebastian, New Waterford; and Marcy (Daniel) Ford, Darlington, Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandparents.

Golden year for Palestine couple

EAST PALESTINE – William and Violet Bigelow, East Palestine, celebrated their 50th anniversary on May 4.

The former Violet Lynn Hill, married William Marcus Bigelow on May 4, 1964 at the Mt. Zion Church by the Reverend Tedd Nusser.

They resided in Clovis, New Mexico and Lubbock, Texas before returning to East Palestine.

Mr. Bigelow retired from Ben E. Keith Food Distributions, Ft. Worth, Texas in 2009, after over 46 years in the food service industry.

Mrs. Bigelow retired as a production manager for a national food service distribution supplier.

They have three children, David Brian Bigelow, Yukon, Oklahoma, Deborah Lynn Bigelow, Erie, Pennsylvania., the late Kenneth William Bigelow; and two two granddaughters.
